Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about what PawNexus does, who it's for, and how it works.

About the platform

What is PawNexus?
PawNexus is a comprehensive pet care platform for dog and cat owners in the United States. It combines pet insurance recommendations, breed selection, claim appeals, certified trainer search, digital pet passports, and more — all grounded in verified data rather than AI guesswork.
What species does PawNexus support?
Dogs and cats only. We focus deliberately on these two species so we can do every decision exceptionally well rather than spreading thin across exotic pets, birds, reptiles, or small mammals.
Is PawNexus available outside the United States?
No. PawNexus serves the United States only. All insurance carriers, veterinary clinics, trainers, and boarding facilities indexed by PawNexus are US-based. International coverage is not currently planned.
Is PawNexus free to use?
Yes — the PawNexus platform is free for pet owners. Insurance plan signups happen directly with the carrier of your choice.
Where is PawNexus based?
Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, United States.

How it works

How does PawNexus avoid AI hallucinations?
PawNexus combines large language models with deterministic data sources — a curated PetBreedManifest, parsed insurance policy documents with citations, and licensed certification registries. The LLM is constrained to only describe candidates that exist in these source-of-truth records. Read the full architecture.
Which insurance carriers does PawNexus cover?
Major US carriers including Nationwide, Healthy Paws, Embrace, Trupanion, Figo, Lemonade, Pets Best, ASPCA, Pumpkin, Spot, MetLife, Fetch, Prudent Pet, AKC, and others.
Is my data private?
Yes. PawNexus does not sell user data. Session data is used to personalize your recommendations within the platform. See the Privacy and Terms page in the app for full details.

Feature availability

Which features are currently live?
Insurance Advisor, Pet Selector, Claim & Appeal Advisor, Pet Trainer Finder, and Pet Passport are live and available to use today.
When do Vet Finder, Nutrition Auditor, Pet Boarding, and Pet Finder go live?
These features are in active development and testing. They appear in the app with a Coming Soon label. We will announce production launch dates as we complete validation.
What is the difference between Pet Selector and Pet Finder?
Pet Selector recommends breeds that match your lifestyle (helpful before you start looking). Pet Finder, when launched, will search national and local shelters and rescues for actual adoptable pets that match your lifestyle.
What is the relationship between PawNexus and Pet Life Advisor?
Pet Life Advisor is the legacy brand. We rebranded to PawNexus in 2026. The legacy domain petlifeadvisor.ai still serves the same platform.
