Pet Finder searches national and local shelters and rescue organizations for adoptable dogs and cats, then ranks them against your lifestyle — dwelling, energy level, hours away from home, presence of children or other pets, grooming commitment, and budget. The matching layer doesn't just trust the breed label on the listing; it reasons over behavioral notes, foster reports, and age in addition to breed.
How it differs from Pet Selector
Pet Selector answers "which breed should I look for?" Pet Finder answers "which available pet, right now, fits me?" The two work together — Pet Selector helps you narrow the search; Pet Finder surfaces the actual animals available for adoption.
Lifestyle-grounded matching
A 4-year-old Border Collie mix from a shelter can be a couch buddy, a hiking partner, or an anxious reactive case — the breed label alone doesn't tell you which. Pet Finder factors in the foster report, shelter behavior notes, age, and any temperament evaluations to score how each pet actually fits your stated lifestyle, not how the average member of that breed fits.
